What an amazing and horribly timely book and interview. Cyrus Cassells is new to me, and I'm so glad I've found him, especially now.

Thinking of Cassells' book, poems expressive of grief offer a kind of kinship to those who grieve. Unlike those traditionally repeated at funerals, which simultaneously evoke and scaffold feelings, such as the Kaddish and Psalm 23, these poems bring our pain into the room, like a body, to be held in common.

Beautiful interview, as always, Radha. Eloquent and heartfelt. Thank you.
